We all crave tacos every now and then. And finding the tasteless-yet-dripping-in-grease kind isn’t hard in Amsterdam. Coba Taqueria is something different.
It’s easy to start with the amazing food but let me talk drinks first. I’d suggest starting with a michelada as an appetizer. Then switch to margaritas but be careful with those. It wouldn’t be the first time I had 2 or 3 too many at Coba. Because they’re just irresistible. And then, if you feel like it, have a look at their mezcal menu. It’s one of the few places in Amsterdam where they have serve it the right way. (With a slice of orange and sal de gusano, that is.)
And then the food. It’s hard to pick favorites here. Tacos are served per 3 to share with your guests (or not). Go for the classic al pastor or carnitas. Or try something different like Tostada de Jaiba with Fried soft shell crab in chipotle adobo and dried blue shrimp powder.
A night at Coba Taqueria is one of the most fun things you can do. Just take the ferry to Amsterdam Noord. You won’t regret it. Take a stroll along the water of the Het IJ river, or grab a beer at Skatecafé (next door) if you’re not ready to go home yet after eating ALL that tacos. Reservation through their website is recommended. For more restautants, visit our home page.

🌮 Ok, LA tacos are something completely different. But if you’re making tacos at home, these recipes by Guerilla Tacos (one of my fav taco trucks in Los Angeles) are highly recommended. Their book is out now on Amazon and Bol.com
